The traditional territory and waters span the northwest coast, including the Prince Rupert area. There are approximately 2,100 Gitxaała members.

The Gitxaała territory has overlapping and/or shared territories with its First Nation neighbours: Lax Kw’alaams, and Haisla and Tsimshian First Nations.
