The 2025 Annual Report highlights the many achievements made in the negotiations process over the course of the year, and celebrates 50 years of modern treaties in Canada and 25 years since the first modern treaty in British Columbia.
The report also highlights the successful ratification of two treaties which occurred in March and April of 2025 respectively (the K’ómoks Treaty: “A Living Agreement”, and the Kitselas Treaty: A Living Agreement).
These treaties also include new innovations that are the result of significant progress in regards to federal and provincial rights recognition policies.
These monumental milestones demonstrate that modern treaties continue to be the most comprehensive form of reconciliation between First Nations and the Crowns, and delivers results that create a better future for all British Columbians and Canadians.
