The BC Ministry of Education redesigned its curriculum to include more Indigenous perspectives, and provides a number of Indigenous Education Resources. These resources include maps of First Nations and languages in BC, information on reconciliation, and its Continuing our Learning Journey: Indigenous Education in B.C. modules. For specific K-12 curriculum that includes Indigenous knowledge and perspectives.
The Ministry also encourages Indigenous Education Enhancement Agreements that strive to “enhance the educational achievement of Aboriginal students.” These are working agreements between school districts, First Nations communities within the district, and the Ministry.
In 2018, the governments of Canda and British Columbia, and the First Nations Education Steering Committee signed the BC Tripartite Education Agreement: Supporting First Nation Student Success.
