Dean is a Process Analyst and joined the Treaty Commission in April 2022. In his role, he supports the facilitation of negotiations and research matters related to the treaty negotiations, Indigenous rights recognition, and supports the Parties making progress in negotiations. He holds a BA in Political Science with a minor in Economics from the University of Victoria. Dean is a recipient of the Vancouver Police Board’s Award for Merit for his actions to quell violence during the 2011 Stanley Cup Riot. Dean was also a volunteer member of the Juan De Fuca Ground Search and Rescue Team.
