Roy Francis is a First Nations Summit appointed Commissioner. He is serving his first term as a Commissioner and was appointed in April 2026. Roy is from the Tla’amin Nation (formerly known as the Sliammon Indian Band), on BC’s Sunshine Coast north of Powell River. He served as the Chief Negotiator for Tla’amin Nation, gaining a wealth of experience in the mechanics of concluding a treaty.
He held the position of Chief and band manager for the Sliammon Indian Band. Previously, he also served as the Chairperson and President of Tla’amin Holdings, which managed business development interests for the Tla’amin Nation.
