The K’ómoks treaty table finalized negotiating a treaty. The K’ómoks First Nation Treaty “A Living Agreement” or referred to as the K’ómoks Treaty, was ratified by the K’ómoks First Nation on March 8, 2025. 91 per cent of eligible voters turning out, and 81 per cent voting in favour of the Treaty. The K’ómoks Treaty Act was introduced at the BC Legislative Assembly on April 14, 2026 marking the beginning of the provincial ratification process of the K’ómoks First Nation Treaty “A Living Agreement”. K’ómoks First Nation will move to Stage 6 once the ratification process for both provincial and federal have completed.

K’ómoks traditional territory spans the Comox Valley in the central eastern part of Vancouver Island, extending into Johnstone Strait. There are approximately 350 K’ómoks members.
K’ómoks has overlapping and/or shared territory with its First Nations neighbours: Homalco, Hul’qumi’num, Snaw-naw-AS, Nuu-chah-nulth, Sechelt, Snuneymuxw, Tla’amin, Te’mexw, Tlowitsis, We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum, and Kwiakah.
